“While we clamor for self determination , let us also not close our eyes to the politics in Nígeria , so we won’t lose in both ways”- Says Chinedu /Brazil
The 2023 presidential election in Nígeria is silently reducing the speed at which Nígerians in Diaspora clamor for self determination , a number of activists , agitators are secretly joining political wings , settling for their candidates
The inclusion of Peter Obi in the political race has triggered decisions , a number of Nigerian Igbos , the Biafrans , IPOB agitators in diaspora are stylishly settling for Mr Obi , many Igbos are changing the agitation for political race , they campaign for Obi as a better option to the Igbo liberation.
The tempo in Brazil and some parts of the Latin America seems strange , talks are mostly on politics , agitators and groups now talks of Tinubu and Obi , the self determination campaign seems infiltrated by some Pro-Nigerian activists , they campaign seriously for their preferred candidates
This is not just Peter Obi , but also Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. Some Yoruba groups and gatherings in Brazil are bent on replacing Mr Buhari with Asiwaju Bola Tinubu . In fact , some say : “ Omo Eni kiise idi bebere ka fileke sidi emiloran “ meaning , you cant adorn the bands of another person’s child while your own child is fit .
Brazil seems topping the list in the Americas , agitations has reduced drastically amongst the Igbos , they are clamoring for “ Igbo-lokan” , many hardly mention Igbo-exit , all they want now is for Mr Obi to rule Nígeria
From the look of things , IPOB condemns one Nígeria, but seeks Peter Obi for president , the Yorubas are same , they condemn one Nígeria but wants Tinubu ( Yoruba-Lokan) to take over. Yorubas call Nígeria a failed state , but wants Asiwaju Tinubu to succeed Mr .Buhari
As the Yorubas would say , “ Osakasoko is a state of confusion”, Many Igbos and Yorubas in Brazil are standing on the fence , they shout Igbo kwenu today and shout ‘ Obi-dient’ tomorrow , the Yorubas shout Yoruba nation today and ‘Emilokan’ tomorrow .
The question is , what is the problem of Nigeria? It seems the Igbos are only after power , not secession , the Yorubas are sitting on the fence , they condemn the Fulanis but wouldn’t support the Igbos , neither would the Igbos support the Yorubas . The Fulanis are always on their own waiting for the Yorubas and Igbos to vote them in.
What a nation called Nígeria , a concentration of liars , a society of political bandits and thieves . The dribbles of the political class seems getting across the goal post , such that the agitators in diaspora are turning to political analysts , the tactics and strategies of the politics in Nígeria are mathematical , only politicians can solve the equation . It is difficult to admit that self determination agitators and critics in diaspora are now the Emilokans and Obi-dients , they ‘ll never stop dancing to their rhythms , the rhythms of 52 years of independence, rhythms of the nothern caliphates, the rhythms that must end .
