Ooni , Gani Adams To Honor Pele As Brazil’s Santos FC Embarks To Nígeria , Set To Reconnect Ancestral Links
As Brazil combats racism in football , the Santos football club of Brazil as embarked on a trip to Nígeria , the club will reconnect the Ancestral link between Brazil and Africa . The delegation will pay homage to His imperial Majesty, the Ooni of Ife , Kabiyesi Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi , and the Aare Ona kakanfo of Yoruba land , Iba Gani Adams In Nígeria .
Santos football Club , identified as legend Pele’s eternal club , will tour Nígeria this month of November , the committee will visit historic places and links of Afro-Brazilians in Nígeria
According to Santos club , the delegation will arrive Nígeria on the 2nd of November , 2022 . The delegation to Nígeria includes the Vice President and a 13 member committee of Santos football club . It will also include the President of African Cultural Center , Oba (Ogboni) Adekunle Aderonmu as the project partner of Brazil- Africa .
Attending to Ancestrals, the coordinator , Max Pedro , said : “ It is with great pleasure that we will be paying tribute to the African people .As you know, Santos FC has already played several matches in this great continent. Due to the valiant receptivity that we have always had, we would like to express our gratitude to Ile-Ife. We also want to launch the third official jersey of Santos football club in Nigeria . This also will help combat racism in football as the jersey is already having Nigeria printed at the back of the jersey. It is a homage to Nígeria, a great nation in Africa .
This initiative will remind Santos FC supporters worldwide of that historic year 1969, when Santos of Pelé played in Africa , and of which the African country paralyzed conflict ( Warring factions ) to welcome Santos Football Club in Africa .We are immensely grateful to the African people , Santos will be glad to reconnect Ancestral links in Nígeria “ Says the coordinator .
According to Oba Adekunle Aderonmu , : “ The trip to Nígeria will reconnect the Ancestral links between Nígeria and Brazil , it will also encourage tourism between the two countries . The delegation will visit the Aare Ona kakanfo, Iba Gani Adams in Lagos and His Imperial Majesty , Kabiyesi Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi , the Aroole Oodua in Ile-Ife . The team will also visit other historic places ; football clubs , dignitaries and several other important places including the Brazilian embassy in Lagos “ The Ogboni king explained.
The projected journey within Nígeria , according to reports ,includes visits to the Edo State Govt , and other important places in Nígeria.
The Nigeria football supporters club will also accompany the Santos delegates in Nígeria , the President of the supporter’s club in Nígeria will also lead the Santos football scouts to important matches where they can scout for talented players .
The Santos football club , last September 2022 , in Brazil , officially unveiled the club’s third jersey . The occasion counted with the presence of Nigerian embassy representatives at the arena of Santos football Club . It was a night that elevated Nígeria in Brazil
