Ooni Declares African territory In Salvador , Says Its Yoruba Heritage
The Arole Oodua , Ooni Of Ife , Kabiyesi Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi , Ojaja ll , on the 19th . March 2023 , declared a Yoruba territory in the State Of Bahia , Brazil .
The spiritual authority , in a concession ceremony held in Salvador , Bahia , declared the ‘ Quilombo do Quingoma’ as an African territory in Bahia , he said it is now part of the Yoruba cultural heritage in diaspora
The Qingoma quilombola community, represented by its leader Rejane Rodrigues de Oyá and by the priestess Donana, welcomed , thanked and eulogized the Ooni of Ife in a traditional ceremony which the Monarch blessed the territory, recognizing it as part of the Yoruba cultural heritage in the world.
The event, which had around 400 people, was made possible by the articulation of the Cultural Ambassador of the African Union in Latin America, the journalist Manoel Soares and his sister, the cultural producer Amanda Soares.
Arole Oodua , while conducting the ceremony , insists that Afro-Brazilians should maintain links with their ancestral homes , he advised they visit Yoruba land in Nígeria.
The spiritual authority will meet with President Lula da Silva on the commemoration of National Day For Orisa Worshipers in Brazil
