Ooni Meets Brazil President On Orisa Day , Says Yoruba Land Stands By Him .
The Ooni Of Ife , Aroole Oodua , Kabiyesi Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi , this 21st Mar. 2023 , celebrated National Orisa Day with the President of Brazil , Luiz Inácio Lula Da Silva .
The Yoruba Monarch was received by President Lula at his presidential palace on a special invite as Brazil celebrates Orisa day
The President who recently approved of ( 21st Mar) , as the National day for Orisa traditionalists eulogized the presence of the revered king , Lula thanked Ooni and his committee for honoring this very important occasion in Brazil , he asked Aroole to continue encouraging the Ancestral link between Afro Brazilians and Yorubas worldwide.
The Aroole Oodua , in his statement , thanked the president of Brazil . The king launched his program tagged ‘ Back to home ‘ , a program set to encourage Brazilians who wants to link their ancestral links back to Yoruba land .
According to Brazil’s First Lady Janja da Silva , “ the visit of Ooni is a blessing to Brazil , it is historic and am happy to be part of this history , Brazil will continue to combate religious intolerance “ The First Lady said .
Ooni’s visit to Brasilia counted with the supports of Nigerian embassy in Brasilia . The Nigerian ambassador to Brazil , Prof Ahmad Makarfi accompanied the Yoruba king throughout the historic visit to Lula in Brasilia.
The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, arrived Brazil on the 18th Mar , he has since then visited Rio de Janeiro , Bahia and Brasilia .
During his visit to Bahia and Rio de Janeiro, the Yoruba king officially presented a Certificate of Yoruba Territory to Quilombola territory in Brazil, making the territory a Yoruba land in diaspora .
