Ojaja University Signs Accord With Brazil’s FIOCRUZ , Aims Traditional Medicine Practices .
The Ojaja University , a private institution owned by the Ooni of Ife , Kabiyesi Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi , has signed a scientific exchange accord with Brazil’s FIOCRUZ , a medical science and public health research center and institute in Brazil
The collaborative accord sealed during the Monarch’s visit to Brazil on the 18th of March , 2023 , will encourage scientific researches on traditional medicine practices , clinical validation of the use of medicinal plants and also a technical cooperation for the installation of human milk banks in Nigeria.
According to FIOCRUZ’ news bulletin, Ojaja University and Fiocruz exhibits mutual interest in carrying out activities like exchange of experiences, promotion of courses , scientific exchange programs among others.
Representing FIOCRUZ , the accord was signed by the interim vice-president of Environment and Health Promotion (Vpaaps/ Fiocruz), Dra Patricia Canto.
The interim coordinator of the Center for International Relations (Cris/Fiocruz), Pedro Burger, expressed satisfaction , he said the aim is to strengthening technical cooperation within the exact framework of international treaty between Brazil and Nigeria , signed in Brasilia , Jan 10th . 1979
This accord which according to “FIOCRUZ portal de informações” will encourage echnical debates. production and dissemination of knowledge . It will also boost innovative projects in the area of Public Health Sciences.
Ojaja University , the former crown hills institute , was acquired recently by the Ooni of Ife , Arole Oodua , Kabiyesi Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi , Ojaja 11 .
The University has since secured full accreditation for take off courses from NUC , the Nigerian Universities Commission .
