The Nigerian Ambassador to Brazil, His Excellency Prof .Mohammad Makarfi was in attendance at the opening of an art exhibition titled “Alaseku – Ancestral Echoes” by Nigerian artist and writer , Adeyinka Olaiya . The exhibition, which was held at the Gallery , Centro Cultural Casa de Angola in the heart of the city, showcased a collection of paintings and mixed media that celebrated African heritage and ancestry.
The event was well-attended, with art lovers and enthusiasts from different parts of the city gathering to appreciate the works of the talented Nigerian-Yoruba artist and writer . The exhibition was curated by Prof Izidoro , who worked closely with Adeyinka to bring his vision to life.
Adeyinka’s works explore themes of identity, ancestry, and culture. He draws inspiration from his Nigerian roots, incorporating traditional African symbols and motifs into his paintings and mixed media. The exhibition featured a range of works, including paintings , mixed-media arts and oral expressions
In an interview with the media, Adeyinka said that he was delighted to have his work showcased in Brazil. He noted that Brazil and Nigeria share a common heritage, and that he was thrilled to have the opportunity to celebrate this shared ancestry through his art.
“I am honored to have my work exhibited in Brazil, a country that has a deep connection to Africa,” Adeyinka said. “My work explores themes of identity and ancestry, and I believe that it is important for us to celebrate our heritage and history. This exhibition is a celebration of our shared ancestry, and I hope that it inspires others to connect with their own roots.”

The exhibition was a great success, with many of Adeyinka’s works eulogized by collectors and art enthusiasts. The artist expressed his gratitude to the organizers of the event, as well as the Nigerian community in Brazil , the African Cultural Center , the members of NIDOA , the Yorubas and Igbo communities in Brazil , KFA Valentine music band , the Espaco Cultural Cris Viera-Ilé-Aje , Afro- Brazilian organizations, the Afrobrasilinks, the Embassy of Nigeria in Brazil and all who made the event a success
“I am grateful to the organizers of this event, as well as to the Nigerian Embassy in Brazil for their presence and support,” Adeyinka said. “I hope that this exhibition will help to promote greater cultural exchange between Nigeria and Brazil, and that it will inspire others to explore their own cultural heritage.”
The exhibition will run for two weeks at the Galeria Sao Paulo, before moving to other locations in Brazil. It is expected to attract a large number of visitors, including art lovers, collectors, and enthusiasts.
