Ogun State House of Assembly has made a significant announcement, declaring August 20th as Isese Cultural Day in the state. The resolution was passed during a plenary session chaired by Speaker Olakunle Oluomo, following a two-week recess. The assembly unanimously approved the resolution titled “H.R. No.008/OG/2023 – Observation of Isese Day as Work-Free Day in Ogun State.”
The resolution calls for the annual celebration of Isese Cultural Day on August 20th and proposes that it be recognized as a work-free day throughout the state. Majority Leader Yusuf Sheriff initiated the motion, which was seconded by Minority Leader Lukmon Adeleye.

In addition to the resolution regarding Isese Cultural Day, the Ogun State Assembly also passed another resolution titled “H.R No. 007/OG/2023 – Usage of Social Media Platform for Official Purpose.” This resolution directs the leadership and management of the House to abide by the provisions outlined in the Standing Orders of the House and the Legislative House (Power and Privileges) Act, 2018 when utilizing social media platforms for official purposes. The aim is to ensure responsible and appropriate use of social media by the House for official communication and engagements.
