The Africa and African Diaspora Culture Shine at the 11th Industry Expo in Itaquaquecetuba, São Paulo, Brazil

For the first time, the Africa and African Diaspora culture and tradition made a significant impact at the recently concluded 11th Industry Expo in Itaquaquecetuba, São Paulo, Brazil. Led by the Africa 54 Cultural Institute and various Afro organizations, this initiative marked a historic moment of competence and history.

Another remarkable project of Lilian Brito and Eldes Santos, the Afro institute achieved a remarkable presence among numerous national and international brands at one of Brazil’s most esteemed Industrial Expos. The Africa 54 Cultural Institute and the Centro Cultural Africano, led by Oba (Ogboni) Adekunle Aderonmu, elevated the status of African culture in Brazil. They showcased African fashion, arts, and literature at the Expo, which celebrated industries and technologies in the city of Itaquaquecetuba, São Paulo

The Expo which according to Oba (Ogboni) Adekunle Aderonmu is a big success , it added the importance of Afro culture and philosophy “ This is the type of what African culture center in Brazil projects , the interest is to write and publish books on African literature and philosophy, such will edify Afro-Brazilians and the black race in general . The 11th edition of the Industry Expo in Itaquaquecetuba, organized by FEMPI and hosted at the Department of Urban Services premises, demonstrated competence and history. With the theme of ‘Business Sustainability,’ the event exemplified the Municipality’s commitment to modernity by embracing unique happenings. The Expo featured complimentary parking, an array of lectures, workshops, and cultural activities. Over 80 exhibitors representing diverse segments of the local economy participated.

Concluding on August 24, 2023, the 11th Industry Expo garnered appreciation from Lili Brito, President of the Instituto Cultural Afro 54 , and Vice-President Eldes Santos. They expressed sincere gratitude to André Domeni, President of FEMPI, for generously providing a stand to the Cultural Institute. “This event held immense significance for entrepreneurship and business networking within the municipality” – Says Dr. Jairo Saturnino Mendes , Pres. The occasion also saw acknowledgments extended to notable individuals including Councilor Lucas de Assis Costa, Oba Adekunlé Aderonmu, Dr. Jairo Saturnino Mendes, and representatives of Senator Astronaut Marcos Pontes and the Itaquaquecetuba Municipality’s Communication Department. Special recognition was given to students and teachers from Guaianases, Itaquaquecetuba, and Suzano schools for supporting the FEMPI initiative, alongside its 80+ partners and exhibitors at the 11th Industry Expo in Itaquaquecetuba
