At the beginning of time, in the ancestral lands of the Yorùbá
Where the Òrìsàs walked among mortals,
A story of love, pain, and redemption was born,
Between Ọyá , the Òrìsà of winds and storms,
And Sàngó , the Òrìsà of thunder and fire.

Ọyá, the deity with penetrating eyes,
Held in her heart a tempestuous fervor,
Like the winds she commanded,
Being chaos and order in one being.
She was the wife of Ògún , the lord of war and iron,
But her burning passion found no echo in Ogun.

Ògún, the orixá of forges and battles,
Was methodical, austere, and dedicated to his work.
His love for Ọyá was true,
But it was not enough to tame the storm
That roared inside her, clamoring for something more.

Thus, the quarrels between Ọyá and Ògún became frequent,
The sparks of friction visible to divine eyes,
Until one day, in an explosion of anger and sorrow,
Ọyá decided to leave, seeking the freedom
Of the winds that always accompanied her.

She wandered through valleys and mountains,
Following the call of her indomitable heart,
Until she met Sango, the god of thunder,
Whose eyes were like live embers,
And whose laughter was like the sound of distant thunder.

Sango, with his overwhelming charisma,
Was everything Oyá desired and feared,
A reflection of her own untamed soul.
He saw in Oyá the force of winds and storms,
And knew there was something more than mere attraction.

The first exchange of glances between them
Was like the meeting of lightning and storm,
A clash of energies that reverberated throughout the cosmos.
Sango courted Oyá with uncontrollable passion,
And she responded with equal fervor,
Leaving behind the remnants of her life with Ogun.

The divorce between Oyá and Ogun was inevitable,
Like the cycle of seasons that cannot be avoided.
Ogun, with his heavy heart, accepted the fate,
Knowing that Oyá’s fire could not be extinguished
By his forging hands.

Sango and Oyá became lovers and warriors,
United by fire and storm.
Together, they dominated the skies and the earth,
With Sango wielding his thunder axes,
And Oyá controlling the winds that guided their battles.

Their union brought balance and chaos
To the realm of the orixás and mortals,
Like an eternal dance of power and passion.
Sango, in his majesty, found in Oyá
The only one who could match him in courage and strength.

Oyá, in turn, discovered in Sango
The flame that was missing to complete her storm.
Their love was like a whirlwind,
Intense and devastating, but also creative,
Capable of giving rise to new landscapes after destruction.

On stormy nights, when the winds howled
And the thunder roared in the sky,
Mortals knew that Sango and Oyá were together,
Dancing their eternal dance of love and power.

Thus, the story of Oyá and Sango endured,
A testimony to the power of love
That transcends barriers and defies destinies.
In Yoruba mythology, their love became a symbol
Of the perfect union between complementary forces.

And so ends this ballad of love and destiny,
Where winds and thunder find harmony,
And where Oyá and Sango reign sovereign,
United forever by fire and storm.
