The 2022 Election in Brazil and 2023 Election in Nígeria are quite similar , they have a lot in common , the only difference is the free and fair polling system in Brazil
The nooks and crannies of SaoPaulo are blessed with Ebos ( Sacrifices ) to the Orisas as the election approaches. A lot of candidates vying for posts are working hand in hand with Bàbálórìsàs to help win elections , they are seen carrying Ebos at midnights to enable them win elections .
A number of these candidates are searching for peace from the Yoruba Esu Laalu , they carry sacrifices at junctions in the streets of Brazil asking Esu Laalu for success , the messenger god answers who gives Ebo ( Sacrifice)
According to Iyalorisa Paula de Oya “ Every Brazilian results in Macumba when things get difficult , they look for Bàbálórìsas when they are in a haste , the church is just nothing than a meeting point . I have plenty of these politicians carrying Ebo in my shrine because of election “ – The Macumbeira said
This time in Brazil , the options are Bàbálórìsà and Evangelist , while Nígeria is Muslim and Muslim ticket . The Bàbálórìsà option is not official like the Muslim Muslim ticket in Nígeria . However , there are similarities in their systems of campaign . They both use religion to gain votes .
The Christian congregations have declared supports to re-elect Jair Bolsonaro , the current president and a candidate for another 4 years , they insists he is a Christian and deserves re-election.
On the other , Luiz Inácio da Silva , aka Lula , has been tagged a leader in support of Orisa religion . Though , Lula never assumed such in public , he has always defended a just society , he is just a stint into the Orisa religion . Lula seeks support from Bàbálórìsàs and Pastors , he discriminates not . The leftist frequents Bàbálórìsàs and Pastors for votes .
The Orisa worshipers in Brazil have not publicly announced a preferred candidate , but the Christians in Brazil have assumed the challenge , they insists in voting the current president , Bolsonaro . The churches are strictly behind him , they believe Brazil needs Christ , not Orisa .
According to reports , traditionalists in Brazil have since dragged the First Lady , wife of President Bolsonaro to court for having attacked Orisa religion on her social media , they demand sanctions against the statement of Brazil’s First Lady , who according to them , incites religious intolerance . The wife of President Bolsonaro , on her Instagram, said the nation must go away from Darkness , she insists that whoever vote for Lula will be voting for Bàbálórìsà, and such will remain in darkness and demons.
Today in Brazil , campaigns are going on heavily in most churches for Bolsonaro as a Christian candidate . The Church leaders are demanding votes from Christians , they want a Christian president.
The traditionalists are indifferent, they campaign for a just candidate . Many are in favor of candidate Lula , not because he is a leftist or better , but because of his tolerance in all ramifications. Lula has visited Orisa religion , he has campaigned and participated in rituals . The former President has vowed to allow Orisa traditional worshipers in his government if elected , he defends equal rights .
In the real sense of it , Babalawos , Babalorisas , Pastors , Evangelists have all embarked on heavy campaigns , prayers and rituals to elect their preferred candidates .
The Ile-Ases in Brazil , house of Orisa worships and the rest are parading candidates from all categories , they carry ebos ( Sacrifices) to help candidates vying for posts in the House of Senates , House of Assemblies , Governors etc
In Bahia , a city considered the Yoruba capital of Brazil , Ebo is constant , Brazilians carry Ebo in broad daylight . The politics in Brazil moves along with Ebo , a lot of politicians vying for political posts in the next election are clients in several Orisa houses , they consult Bàbálórìsàs for success .
In São Bernardo do Campo , the interior of Saopaulo , the two express roads to the beach sides are full of Ebos placed along the roadsides . Hundreds of Ebos placed one after the other with pictures of candidates placed by the sides of Ebo plates for victory during elections
“ This is the period politicians look for us , they need us to win election , they carry Ebo around the whole Brazil to win election “ – Says Baba Oliveira.
The Brazil Election is slated for next week Sunday 2nd of October , 2022 . Brazilians will elect the President , Governors , Senates , and the House of assembly .
