Named Ile-Afoxé Ìjèsà , the samba group is one of the oldest carnival college in Saopaulo , it is a group exceptionally created for Brazilians who have traced their origins back in Ijesaland “ It’s very nice to celebrate Ijesaland with Brazilians of Ìjèsà descents . The Ìjẹ̀ṣàs are Yoruba sub-ethnic group from Nígeria. Ilesha is the largest town and historic cultural capital of the Ìjèsà people, and is home to a kingdom of the same name, ruled by an Oba locally styled as the Owa Obokun Adimula. The present ruling family of Ìjèsà is the Aromolaran family with the current reigning Owa Obokun being Oba Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran.
During the slave trade era , Ìjèsàs were also captured and made victims of the transatlantic slave trade which criminally transported millions of Africans to Brazil and other Latin American countries to work for the European slave traders
