Okada man’ from Labour Party Emerges Victorious in Kaduna House of Reps Election
Labour Party (LP) candidate and okada rider identified as Mr. Donatus Mathew, has been declared winner of the Kaura Federal Constituency election in Kaduna state.
The returning officer of the Federal House of Representatives election in Kaduna state Prof. Elijah Ella, on Sunday declared Matthew the winner.
Matthew scored 10,508 to defeat the incumbent member and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Gideon Lucas Gwani who came second with 10, 297 votes.
Prof. Ella’s results indicated that the candidates that followers were the All Progressive Congress (APC) with 9,919 votes, and the New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP), with 5,354 votes, making them third and fourth.
Matthew thanked the voters for his victory and called for his constituents to come together to ensure progress.
His closest opponent and current Minority Whip in the House of Representatives, Mr. Gideon Lucas Gwani, congratulated the member-elect and wished him well.
