Mr. Mohammed Umar is now the Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Umar has been directed by President Bola Tinubu to take over the affairs of the commission being the Director of Operations after the suspension of Abdulrasheed Bawa as its Chairman.

On Wednesday evening, President Tinubu suspends the EFCC Chairman indefinitely following what is described as weighty allegations of abuse of office.

Hours to his suspension, Bawa had a meeting with the President today at the State House. The President had earlier today suspended indefinately , Mr Bawa as the overall boss of Nigeria’s most funcional financial and economic crime investigative institution .
