Yorùbás In Brazil : Egbé Ọmọ Oòdua Celebrates Yorùbá Day In Grand Style

Egbé Ọmọ Oòdua , the sociocultural organization in Brazil , this weekend , 3rd, December , 2022 , danced to the tune of their forefathers . The overall body of all Yoruba groups in Brazil celebrated Yorùbá day in grand style .

An event realized in the premises of Saopaulo state legislative council counted with the presence of respectable Nigerian and Brazilian Yoruba families who danced and spoke in one voice .

The event which exhibited the beauty and extravagance in Yoruba costumes and dresses did not only celebrate the success of Egbé Ọmọ Oodua in Brazil but also celebrated the Yoruba culture , tradition and Religion in grand style

According to Atayese Oòdua , Chief Rafael Saragiotto , “ This is a collective effort , the merit is for all . I am happy to be part of this memorable day . I thank the presence of an exceptional parliamentarian , Vereador Gilson Barreto for always standing by us . I appreciate the wonderful persons made of Pastor Kayode Aderemi and Alfa Bola , they have been relentless . Oodua agbe wa o ! “ The ceremonialist said

The Yorubas and other well wishers from all over Brazil danced to the drums played by the Rio de Janeiro based Yoruba band who sang , danced and displayed the tunes of a sophisticated Yoruba drums .The Japanese Onilu ( Ayan) and his band from Oduduwa Temple dos Orixás also dazzled the audience with the traditional style of drums in full force .

The occasion also awarded important dignitaries who contributed to the elevation of Yoruba communities in Brazil and worldwide. The Alana , Prof. Banji Akintoye who also received a distinguished award of excellence was represented by a Yoruba self determination delegate who arrived Brazil from his base in Canada , he delivered a speech of confidence and appreciation as directed by the Yoruba Professor of history , Alana Banji Akintoye
